Armelle Solelhac is an action sports passionate from an early age. Her master’s degree in business law (Grenoble-Alpes University, 2005) and an Executive Specialized Master degree in Marketing & Communication at ESCP Europe (Paris) in her pocket in 2009, she left to ride 280 ski areas in 27 countries on 5 continents for 2 years. Back home, she founded SWITCH, a prospective, marketing strategy and digital communication agency specialized in tourism and outdoor sports. Her offices are located in Annecy (France) and Los Angeles (USA). So far, she successfully worked with 100+ clients such as Merrell, ODLO, Eider, Intersport, Chamonix Mont-Blanc, Trysil, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Compagnie des Alpes, Edgar Grospiron, etc. In parallel, Armelle Solelhac is a business angel and a savy invetor since 2015. She sits as a board member of Outdoor Sports Valley (OSV) and she works pro bono with start-ups in its incubator to help them with their development and growth strategies. She also teaches communication basics at the Savoie Mont-Blanc’s University Institute of Technology.

As her mission is all about hunting the new consumer trends and designing amazing brands experiences to make the world even more fun and beautiful, she went in 2016 on a second world tour to study more than 100 seaside destinations in 14 countries on 4 continents. For more than 12 years now, she develops her field of fundamental research on prospective about enchantment, influence and customer experience online & offline. In 2019, she published a book about « Mountain Resorts Management & Marketing » (Territorial, Presses Universitaires du Sport) and she started to work on a PhD on the upscaling of mountain destinations by co-developing and co-branding with brands.

As a professional public speaker and a host who also loves to write, her range of topics goes from social media, marketing strategy and all the way to consumers behaviour around the world. Trend forecasting runs as the common theme across all presentations alongside the ever-present entrepreneurial perspective. She is invited all over the world to speak about the future of marketing & communication in the hospitality and tourism industries.

I speak and do workshops all over the world on the topics of:

  • • The Future of Tourism, Travel & Hospitality trends
  • • Mountain Resorts by 2050: A prospective vision of business models and consumer practices
  • • Mountain Resorts business model: a new paradigm?
  • • Top 10 Digital Marketing & Communications trends by 2025
  • • Experiential Marketing or the art of customers enchantment : what is that creates fans ?

The bad news: we live in an increasingly stressful and demanding world, where people have more and more choices, but less and less time. The good news is we have gone from intrusive marketing to participative marketing. What is the recipe to make your brand or product to stand out? What is that people will move from being simple consumers to the ambassadors of your brand? What are the ingredients that will make them say « I loooove your brand or your product! » Easy, enchant them! It’s always a surprise for me to see people’s eyes to shine when I say the word « enchantment ». Nobody ever falls asleep during these talks ! 😉

The Reason Why

The great marketer Simon Sinek use to say « people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it ». So you probably wonder why I travel and speak all around the world. Well, I started for three reasons: I felt I had something important to say and I wanted to be the change I hoped to see in the world. I wanted to transition from helping a few people on an individual basis to helping more people through a broader medium. I wanted to sleep at night. As far as I can remember, I always have struggled to fall asleep. As I kept waking up at night with more ideas, I wanted to share it with the rest of the world and see if it could be helpful to others. Since I started sharing these ideas, I’ve been advancing the vision of unconventional living, connecting with amazing people all over the world, and sleeping great at night!
